Stephen Velott

I first sold Cutco® in 2002 after graduating from high school, prior to entering college. After an eighteen year hiatus, I made the decision to reactivate my rep account because my fiancée (now wife) was not fond of my cheap bachelor pad knife block and wanted to put a slightly less cheap knife block on our registry. She was immediately onboard with going with the Cutco® Homemaker + 8 block after I explained the forever guarantee and free knife sharpening (plus a small shipping and handling fee) over the more frugal box store offering that would likely need to be replaced within a handful of years and end up costing us more than making the right investment from the beginning. Knowing we made the right decision to go with the Cutco® block was further solidified when it came to retire the mostly unused block that had sat on my kitchen counter for over five years. When it came time to move it, the front table knife portion split away from the main block, exposing the table knife blades. Fortunately the table knifes did not go airborne. As you can probably guess, that well known knife brand (name redacted for legal reasons; blame my wife, who is a lawyer) is not manufactured at the same quality level as Cutco®, nor do they offer a forever guarantee.

One of the great perks I have now that I have reactivated my rep account is I am able to sell this amazing product offering on the side and help out great causes that are near and dear to me, such as the Children’s Tumor Foundation. I donate 20% of my commission to them, along with various other charities. Please understand Cutco® has absolutely zero involvement or influence with my decision to donate a portion of my commission to charity, as well as the charities I support.
